Fine Art Appraisals

We will provide a professionally written appraisal for purposes of insurance, fair market value, charitable donation, estate tax or equitable distribution, according to your needs. We follow the guidelines established by the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice for valuation methodology, the Code of Ethics of the American Society of Appraisers and the American Appraisers Association. Cost: $200 per hour including research, examination and travel time.

Expert Opinion
We will evaluate the quality, condition and the historical importance of an artwork and provide a verbal estimate of its current fair market value. This service provides an approximation of market value without the expense of a formal written document. Fee: $200 per picture.

Authentication
The gallery can provide a written authentication of an artwork in cases of questioned authenticity within our specialty with the cooperation of curators at local museums and a variety of experts in the field. Fee: $200 per hour including research and examination and travel time.

Special Services
Building corporate collections, locating specific artworks that might be available on the art market, consulting on a wide range of collection management issues, legal and tax implications, security, installation, and curatorial oversight services. Please call us for more details.

Fine Art Photography
Our photographer can supply you with accurate professional 8 x 10" black and white or color prints or 4 x 5" color transparencies or, when necessary, a photo-reproduction to scale of your artwork, produced digitally at minimum cost. Our photographer has worked with us for 25 years.

Fine Art Shipping
We ship anywhere in the U.S. and abroad. To safeguard your artwork, we use shippers who specialize in fine art packing and transport. They are trained to handle delicate objects, soft-wrapping, hard-wrapping or crating as the situation requires. The gallery carefully documents each artwork with receipts and insurance vouchers.

Fine Art Conservation
When your artwork needs conservation, our specialists can treat your picture with state-of-the-art museum standards. Our conservation consultants are among the most respected professionals on the East Coast and have worked with us for many years.

Fine Art Insurance
Insurance issues are of paramount concern and we carefully address each insurance coverage issue, whether the artwork is at the gallery for just a few days, for research or on long term consignment.
